Bargain Argan: Review and Giveaway!

Bargain Argan is a company based out of the United States that imports and packages 100% pure and certified Argan Oil from southwestern Morocco. I was lucky enough to receive a one oz. bottle of Bargain Argan's Argan Oil for the purpose of conducting this review. I absolutely love experimenting with natural oils for both skincare and hair care...anything to enhance my beauty regimen in a healthy way! I have always had positive results when it comes to trying oils, probably because I suffer from some dry and distressed hair and unruly combination skin that is super dry in the winter.

Bargain Argan's 100% Pure Organic Argan Oil is available in two sizes: 1 oz and 2 oz. Each product comes in a squeezable, plastic bottle with a nifty twist cap dispenser. This Argan Oil has been certified as organic by ECO and the USDA. The only ingredient present in this product is the argan oil -- there are no harsh chemicals, additives, coloring, or fillers. Bargain Argan manufactures their product with a simple design and simple packaging to keep their prices affordable for customers. The design and twist cap dispenser are actually great for applying the Bargain Argan Oil to localized areas, or to hard-to-get at areas, like on your scalp.

What is Argan Oil good for, in terms of your beauty routine?

Lots of things! Bargain Argan Oil is great for massages and soothing the skin. It also makes a wonderful addition to your scalp or your hair, to prevent flaking and to help repair split-ends. It is rich in things such as Vitamin E, proteins, and essential fatty acids which can enhance the health and the luster of your hair. You can also apply the Bargain Argan Oil to the skin on your face or anywhere on your body, as it will help soften and reduce many skin conditions. It is great for use on cuticles and nail beds, as well as any cracked or dry areas, such as your heels or elbows. It is really good for just about anything! Not only can it be directly applied -- you can also add it to your favorite products, like shampoos, conditioners, or moisturizers, to add that something extra.

Right now, you can purchase a 1 oz. bottle of Bargain Argan here, on the Bargain Argan website, for just $7.99. Bargain Argan Oil is also offered in a 2 oz. bottle for just $12.49. Other savings packages are available as well: 5 one oz. bottles for $44.95 (save over 25%), 5 two oz. bottles for $64.95 (save over 37%), or 10 two oz. bottles for just $99.99 (save over 50%). Bargain Argan offers FREE SHIPPING to all customers! If you are at all unsatisfied with your purchase, Bargain Argan will refund 100% of your money.

I have used the Bargain Argan extensively in my hair and I love it! Like most natural oils, it is the perfect remedy for my dry hair and split ends. It isn't a magic, overnight repair, but it definitely helps over time. As soon as you put the Bargain Argan Oil on, you can notice the difference in how saturated and moisturized your hair looks. It takes my hair from fly-away and dry to shiny and smooth, without giving it a greasy texture. I do have thick hair that is resistant to becoming oily, so keep that in mind if you are purchasing this with thin or more oily hair -- you will probably want to use less product. I put it on the ends of my hair and then I put a little on the top of my head and comb it down through and it spreads out nice and evenly. There is no noticeable scent, which is good for people who are sensitive to strong smells. I like that it doesn't have that smell that a lot of hairsprays do. I love that it is all-natural and I think that this type of bottle makes it very easy to apply. As winter approaches, my feet start to become cracked on the heels and even towards the underside of the front of my foot, so I will be using this as one of many products to help heel and smooth out my skin. I think it is very effective, and very affordable for the amount that you get. This is a go-to product for dry hair or skin!

BestZest Premium #Zester & #Grater: Review and Giveaway!

I received the BestZest Premium Zester and Grater for free, in exchange for providing you with my opinions. If you are anything like me, you may not actually know exactly what a zester is, even if your parents have used one in the kitchen before. When I saw the opportunity to apply for this product, I jumped at it, because I have been trying to slowly improve my cooking skills, both as a hobby and as a way to alter my diet.

In case you don't know, a zester is a fancy little kitchen tool that removes the "zest" from citrus fruits like lemons and limes. The zest is the shiny, outer portion of the fruit that is colored. It does NOT include the white portion of the peel of the fruit, which is referred to as the "pith". The pith is the bitter portion of the fruit that you do not want to eat -- the zest actually has a very intense flavor which is great for all kinds of unique recipes in both cooking and baking.

The BestZest Premium Zester and Grater is great, because it has two functions in one product. The grating portion of this tool can be used on things such as chocolate (to make chocolate shavings for a fancy dessert), nutmeg, and even hard-to-grind foods like garlic and ginger. When zesting, it avoids hitting the pith, so that you don't have to worry about bitterness sneaking into your next dish. It has a tough, durable, 8" 18/8 stainless steel blade which is made to handle any type of food. At the same time, the BestZest Premium Zester and Grater offers a very comfortable handle that makes it easy to maintain your grip without slipping. You will be able to repetitively grate and/or zest without your hand becoming numb or tired. Unlike some zesters, the BestZest Premium Zester and Grater is not flimsy, and will not become dull quickly after only a few times of use.

The BestZest Premium Zester and Grater is made with only FDA-approved materials that are safe for food contact. It even comes with a safety protection cover (as pictured) that helps prevent injury. Since the blade is very sharp and effective, you can simply slip the cover over the zester/grater when you put it in your drawer, so that you won't have to worry about cutting yourself when you pull it out. It is dishwasher-safe and easy to clean.

Right now, you can purchase the BestZest Premium Zester and Grater here, on Amazon, for just $8.99; if you have Amazon Prime, you will qualify for free shipping! If you are at all unhappy with the BestVest Premium Zester and Grater, not to worry, as there is a 100% money-back guarantee that lasts the lifetime of the product!

I thought that the BestZest Premium Zester and Grater worked really well, especially for its affordable price. The blade is definitely durable and not flimsy or dull, as promised. So far, I have used it to zest lemons and limes for some desserts, and I plan on using it a lot in the future as I expand my cooking skills. I loved using the grater portion of this tool to grate chocolate shavings for some mixed drinks on a nice, "date night in". I have also used it to grate cheese for pasta and other dishes that we have had for dinner in the past few weeks. I love the comfortable handle, and I think that the safety protection cover is an awesome feature -- I can't tell you how many times I have poked myself on knives and other kitchen appliances when I go in a drawer without thinking. At least I don't have to worry about this being the culprit! I would definitely recommend this zester and grater to anyone who cooks or bakes -- it makes a great gift, especially alongside other items in a gift basket!

Ecco Bella FlowerColor Natural Liquid #Foundation: Review

Ecco Bella is a company based out of West Orange, NJ, that specializes in manufacturing all-natural, cruelty-free cosmetics and beauty products. Ecco Bella believes in creating products that will not just enhance your beauty on the outside, but will give you beauty from the inside, out. They use ingredients such as vitamins, herbs, and minerals which are beneficial for your skin and hair, in more ways than one.

I had the opportunity to review THREE of Ecco Bella's FlowerColor Natural Liquid Foundations for the purpose of conducting this review. I received the full-sized, one oz. tube of the Bisque, Light Beige, and Natural shades. I was excited to try a foundation from a new company -- especially one that is actually good for my skin, as I feel like I use too many chemicals in almost all of my beauty products.

Ecco Bella's FlowerColor Natural Liquid Foundation does more than just conceal blemishes and even out skin tone; it is an innovative foundation that also acts as a sunscreen and skin treatment. It has an SPF of 15, and can help prevent your skin from harmful UVA/UVB-ray damage during the summer and winter months. The unique formula of the FlowerColor Natural Liquid Foundation includes a host of vitamins, organic herbs, and antioxidants. Some of its skin treatment properties include providing moisture for dry skin (with the help of organic Aloe Vera and saccharide isomerate) and rejuvenating/healing skin (with the help of potent vitamins such as Vitamin E).

The FlowerColor Natural Liquid Foundation comes in seven different shades which span the color spectrum, giving a fair representation for most skin types. They include: Bisque, Ivory Porcelain, Light Beige, Natural, Linen, Tan, and Mocha, listed from light to dark. Ecco Bella does not offer foundation based on tone or warmth, so all shades are fairly close to neutral, not leaning more towards yellow or green. Instead of focusing on color correction, they focus on creating shades which will match/enhance your natural skin color. It "glides on sheer" with its Aloe/water-based formula, but is meant to provide great coverage. It has a weightless formula which will help to lock-in moisture, rather than drying out your pores and caking on. The FlowerColor Natural Liquid Foundation is a great, healthy alternative for anyone who wants to protect their skin while also evening it out.

Ecco Bella's FlowerColor Natural Liquid Foundation contains organic ingredients, and is gluten and paraben free, as well as vegan. It contains the following ingredients:

Active ingredient: Zinc Oxide 2%, Titanium Dioxide 9%. Inactive ingredients: Water (aqua), AloeBarbadensis Leaf Juice*, Vegetable Glycerin, Trioctyldodecyl Citrate, Glyceryl Stearate, CetylAlcohol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) SeedOil*, Stearic Acid, Caprylic Capric Triglyceride, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil**, Behenyl Olivate, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit**, Passiflora Edulcis (Passionfruit) Oil*, Methylcellulose, Extract of Calendula OfficinalisFlower*, Sage (Salvia) Officinalis Leaf*, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower*, Jojoba Esters, Flower Wax, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenethyl Alcohol. May contain: Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxide (CI77491, CI77492, CI77499)

Right now, you can purchase any 1 oz. tube of Ecco Bella's FlowerColor Natural Liquid Foundation for just $25.95 plus shipping, here, on Ecco Bella's website.

In these pictures, I am wearing the "Natural" shade of Ecco Bella FlowerColor Natural Liquid Foundation. It was the darkest of the three shades that I received, and the one that most closely resembled my skin-tone. I am one of those people that tends to go a shade darker than the back of my hand usually, just because I am confident in my blending abilities and I like the look of a "natural" tan without having to use too much bronzer or blush. That being said, I probably would have chosen a shade darker for my "summer" skin, though I didn't get too dark this summer. As winter rolls around, I get paler, so it is nice to have a variety of lighter shades of foundation to choose from. The Light Beige shade will probably be great for when I am at my palest, but I will probably be sharing the Bisque shade with one of my friends who has a lighter skin tone!

I initially thought the Ecco Bella FlowerColor Natural Liquid Foundation was small, but a little really goes a long way. I only needed a small squeeze to cover my entire face. It was really easy to apply, as it glided on and didn't cake or dry too quickly. I found that if I shook the tube first, it was a little thicker. The FlowerColor Foundation did seem to be more sheer when applying, but dried to a light, more powdery-textured foundation. I liked the face that it did not feel like a mask, and allowed my skin to breathe. I love that it has natural ingredients, and that it also helps act as a sunscreen. It did feel like it helped moisturize my skin throughout the day with the added vitamins and herbs. I felt like the "Natural" shade gave my skin a, (fittingly), natural look. It blended around the angles of my face without leaving streaks, and it helped to even out my skin-tone so that I looked less like I just woke up, and more like I had a healthy glow. In the pictures, I am only wearing the foundation and hair isn't even done. So that is literally a five-minute look, which is handy if I need to run out the door. While I felt like the foundation had coverage enough to soften my skin and make it appear more even, I did not feel like it covered the redness on my chin entirely, even though that didn't come across in the photographs. I think this is a great foundation for people who want a natural, breathable look. I would recommend it to those who have acne and other conditions only for the healing properties, but I would throw extra concealer on if you are going to go this route, as I feel this is more of a medium coverage foundation than a full coverage. All-in-all, I think it is great for the price and for its 3-in-1 benefit.
