Purex Fabric Softener Sheets: Review and Giveaway!

http://www.purexinsiders.com/resource/resmgr/P_FSS/wDryer-Sheets-400x400-2.jpg

Purex recently released brand new fabric softener sheets with an improved formula. These new softener sheets have three times the fragrance vs the original 120 count sheets. They are available in two scents: Mountain Breeze and Sweet Lavender. You can find the new and improved Purex Fabric Softener Sheets at Walmart; they will be in all major retailers in the coming weeks. Purex also has a liquid fabric softener available in the same two scents.

Purex Fabric Softener Dryer Sheets now have the capability of making your laundry smell even more fresh, while simultaneously softening. All you have to do to use them is to place a new sheet on top of your wet clothes before you start the drying cycle. If you have an extra large load, you can use two dryer sheets. You can reuse softener sheets if you have smaller loads of laundry, but you will not get the intensity of softness/freshness as you would by using a new sheet.

Did you know that Purex Fabric Softener Sheets have more uses than just adding a great scent to your laundry? They are actually wonderful at reducing static cling. I noticed that this does not apply to just laundry, but also hair! If you are having a bad day in the winter and you have fly-away, static-ridden hair, try taking one of these dryer sheets and rubbing it all over your head. It calms down the stray pieces of hair and also leaves your hair smelling good. The softener sheets are also great at reducing lint and repelling pet hair from your clothing. This happens in the dryer, but you can rub them on your pants as well to take off any excess hair.

Purex Fabric Softener Dryer Sheets can also be very helpful as a stand-in air freshener. You can put them in your drawers, your gym bag, a trash can, the laundry hamper, in your car, or even in front of a fan to fill your house with either Mountain Breeze or Sweet Lavender. There are actually many innovative uses for dryer sheets. They are great for cleaning, whether it be household surfaces or dishes - the texture alone is great at removing hard-to-get particles. Softener sheets can also be used as a repellant for many types of insects and animals, so pack them into your camping gear or put one on the deck when you are outside! I learned from my mom that softener sheets are also great for sewing, if you are having a problem with any threads that are tangling. All you do is run your dryer sheet over the threads.

I received a box of Mountain Breeze Purex Fabric Softener Sheets from the Purex Insiders program to test out for myself. One box is 6.4 x 9 in. and contains 40 softener sheets. The box is actually made from 100% recycled paper, which is great for the environment. The only ingredients contained within the Mountain Breeze softener sheets are: Dialkyldimethylammonium Methyl Sulfate and Fragrance.

My mom loves Purex products, so when she saw the box come in the mail, she jumped on it. I am moving tomorrow, so I thought I would just pack them away and review them when I got to the dryer in my new apartment, but my mom was doing laundry and she said she wanted a sheet! She loves the scent and the quality of all Purex products. We both loved the Mountain Breeze scent; I hadn't tried the original Purex dryer sheets, so I can't really compare, but these new softener sheets definitely had a lasting impact. Our clothes were very soft when they came out of the dryer, and had a powerful scent. Some softener sheets from other brands are dull and cheap, and you can't smell them at all after the laundry comes out of the dryer. I like to open the dryer and fill my bathroom with the scent of a quality dryer sheet, because it eventually makes it way around the house and makes everything smell clean! I can't wait to use my new Purex Fabric Softener Sheets in my own dryer on my own clothing. I don't think that I will be buying no-name brand softener sheets anymore after smelling these. I also decided to try using the sheets as a mosquito repellant, since I have heard that this works for so many people. I have tried candles and other remedies, but our house is in the country in a very wooded area, so there hasn't been much relief. I brought two softener sheets outside with me (even though it looks a little ridiculous). I can't say for sure, but I think I didn't get bitten up as much as I usually do. I kept them very close to me - I don't know how far away you can put them to still expect results. Anyway, I recommend buying Purex Fabric Softener Sheets not only for your laundry, but also to try one of the unusual uses listed above!

I would choose mountain breeze. I don't have any unusual uses but I use them for static in hair during winter and to freshen up my daughter's sock drawer.

  6. Another thing I do with dryer sheets is to wipe down my baseboards with a used dryer sheet. Since they fight static cling, this prevents dirt from sticking to the baseboards and leaves a pleasant scent behind!

  7. I'd like to try the Mountain Breeze scent. I'm not a huge fan of lavender. I place dryer sheets behind each of the shutters around the windows. It keeps bees from nesting behind them!
