Day by Day Vitamin C Beauty Serum: Review

Day by Day Beauty is a company based out of Naperville, Illinois, that is invested in offering "natural and organic skin care at affordable prices". They want to promote a healthy self-image by supplying customers with products that combat aging and skincare issues. They are a small company that are highly invested in customer service.

Currently, Day by Day Beauty offers two products: Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Vitamin C Serum. This review will focus on the Vitamin C Serum.

Day by Day Vitamin C Serum has a retail price of $89.00, but right now you can purchase it through their website for just $18.50, or through Amazon, here, for $28.95 and free shipping. When you buy multiple bottles on Amazon, there are also deals. Worried that you might not like the product? Don't! Day by Day Beauty fully backs their Vitamin C Serum, and offers a 100% money-back guarantee if you are not fully satisfied with the products and its results. So if you are on the edge, there is really no risk in giving it a try.

Day by Day Beauty's Vitamin C Serum has the following ingredients, which are 98% natural and 72% organic :

Deionized Aqua (Water), Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf (Aloe), Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), Cassia Angustifolia Seed Polysaccharide (Botanical Hyaluronic Acid), Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel), Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Carbomer, Arginine, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Oil), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Phenoxy- ethanol, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin, Organic Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola Extract), Organic Equisetum Arvense (Horsetail Plant Extract), Organic Pelagonium Gravoleons (Geranium Extract), Organic Taraxacum Officinale (Dandelion Extract)

The Vitamin C Serum comes in a cobalt blue bottle, which products it from bacteria, oxidation, and light. A pump will also be included with the bottle, which attaches and can remain attached afterwards. The Vitamin C Serum has an active shelf-life of approximately one year. It has an 18% potency, which is safe for mostly all skin types.

The directions for use are really simple. First, make sure that your face, neck, and chest are cleansed and make-up free. Next, either apply a few drops of the serum onto your finger-tips or your palms with the pump attachment screwed into the bottle. The serum comes out fast, so you only need one or two pumps. I rubbed mine in a little with my finger-tips which gives the product time to become absorbed. Day by Day Beauty recommends that you use a moisturizer afterwards and that you do not apply the serum around your eyes.

What can the Day by Day Beauty Vitamin C Serum do for me?

This unique formula contains not only Vitamin C, but also Vitamin E and vegan hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid will aid in "plumping, protecting and restoring" skin cells. Vitamin C is naturally protective for our skin against free radicals, and can also help build a healthy immune system and collagen. The Vitamin C has many potential benefits, including:

  •  Brightening skin
  • Reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles; anti-aging properties
  • Tightening and building elasticity
  • Smoothing rough or dry skin and adding moisture
  • Minimizing age spots or sun spots and evening out the skin
  • Protecting against free radicals
  • Reducing inflammation (anti-inflammatory ingredients)
  • Reduces pores, breakouts, and the appearance of acne scars

A very small percentage of users have experienced break outs, but this is the minority. Day by Day Beauty Serum is applicable with other skincare products. Research shows that you may see results as quickly as 2-4 weeks, or it may take upwards of 6 months to see the full results, although everyone's body responds differently.

I received a 1 oz. bottle of Day by Day Beauty Vitamin C Serum for the purpose of this review. I was not as interested in the anti-aging properties (I'm only 25..no wrinkles yet!) as I was about the anti-acne and collagen building aspects. When I was a pre-teen, my doctor told me that my body naturally has a very low level of collagen compared to others, so I am constantly in search of products that will boost this. It is not a really noticeable issue now, but it means that my skin is not as elastic, and is prone to stretch marks and wrinkles. Also, ever since I got off one of my medications, I have been having break-outs. I used to have really smooth, almost flawless skin, but lately I have been finding patches of break-outs on my cheeks and chin. They come and go, but it seems to be getting worse instead of better. This surprises me, because I haven't been as stressed the past month, and my diet has been much better.

I started using the Day by Day Beauty Vitamin C Serum in the morning, before I put on lotion and make-up, and at night, after I take my make-up off. The first thing I like about this particular serum is the fact that is not thick and gooey like many other serums. I also like that it has the convenient pump, and that it doesn't have a strong and irritating smell. My skin is extremely sensitive, so I always get nervous using new products (my skin often flares up or gets really red and itchy), but this one went over just fine, and that may be due to its anti-inflammatory properties. I have been applying it to my cheeks, forehead, chin, and neck. Though I haven't been using it for anywhere near the amount of time it may take to see full results, smoothness was one of the first things I noticed, almost right away. My skin is a combination, really, moving between oily and dry depending on the season/day. This serum has really helped lock in moisture, making my skin feel better to the touch. I can't "feel" increased elasticity, so I can't comment on that aspect of it, but I hope that it is increasing my collagen and helping me prevent future wrinkles! Although my break-outs haven't stopped, I really think this serum is helping soothe and reduce them, and I will continue to use it. So far, this serum has been great! I would love to hear what others have to say about anti-aging properties, as I also can't comment on that.

  4. I like how you phrased that "may" see results in 2-4 weeks. It takes along while to see results with topical agents. I have been using another variant of this serum for 4 weeks- still waiting to see the changes.
