Shandali is a company based out of Ubud, Bali whose mission statement, in part, is the following: to "improve the physical, emotional, and spiritual health" of themselves and their community through yoga. Their manufacture the popular GOSWEAT yoga towel.
I was lucky enough to receive one Shandali GOSWEAT Yoga Towel for the purpose of this review. I was excited, because, as you know, I just started to get my health in check again after a stressful year of medical school. I am revamping both my diet and my exercise plan, and that includes some de-stressing and mind-clearing yoga. I also utilize the yoga mats at my local gym, where I have a membership. I have recently started bringing my GOSWEAT Yoga Towel with me in my gym bag to use there.
The Shandali GOSWEAT Yoga Towel measures 26.5″ x 72″ inches, which fully covers any standard yoga mat. It is made from a light-weight, premium microfiber blend that has a "suede" type of texture that is soft to the touch. The GOSWEAT Yoga Towel is safe for machine washing and drying, and creates a hygienic layer between your body and your yoga mat that will greatly extend the life of your mat. You can use the GOSWEAT Yoga Towel at the gym, on the beach, at home, or anywhere you desire, because its design makes it incredibly versatile.
The great thing about the Shandali GOSWEAT Yoga Towel is that its material is uniquely designed to absorb large amounts of moisture and sweat, which keeps both you and your yoga mat cleaner, more dry, and more comfortable during your yoga/workout session. The GOSWEAT Yoga Towel is made to dry quickly on its own. Its material makes for a more slip-free workout, without a lot o , bunching up or readjusting needed. Shandali states that the problem with other, less high-quality yoga towels is the fact that they do not absorb as much sweat or dry as quickly, leaving them clammy and slippery, which can actually be very dangerous. Many other towels bleed into laundry when machine washed and have a much shorter life span, which ends up costing more money in the long run.
The Shandali GOSWEAT Yoga Towel is exclusive to Amazon and, right now, can be purchased here for just $29.95; shipping will be free if you have Amazon Prime. It is currently available in gray or pink. If you are in any way unsatisfied with the yoga towel, there is a 30-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked! Shandali stands behind its product, and wants to risk your skepticism, because they know they have a great yoga towel!
While I am not as skilled at yoga as many long-time yogis, I do get a lot of use out of my at-home and gym yoga mats, as I mentioned above. I don't sweat as much doing the simple yoga moves that I have mastered at home, but I know that I would be sweating at the beach, or outside in my backyard on a sunny day. Also, as I progress into more challenging yoga moves, I know that I will be starting to sweat more. At the gym, I work on stretching, crunches, "rainbows", sit-ups, and other maneuvers, and I need the yoga mat to support my back. I hate when I am sweating and I start to stick to the yoga mat and become uncomfortable; often times it starts to slide around underneath me. The Shandali GOSWEAT Yoga Towel really serves its purpose well. It does help absorb a large majority of the sweat, which always makes me feel more comfortable and keeps me focused on my workout longer. I also love keeping my personal yoga mat as sweat-free as possible, and to keep myself separated from the yoga mats at the gym (sometimes they smell like body odor already!). The GOSWEAT Yoga Towel makes a nice barrier, and doesn't bunch up often enough to have any impact on my yoga or workouts. I love how light-weight it is, because it is easily transported and can be dried quickly. It is really helping keep my yoga mat clean for a longer period of time! I recommend this to any serious yogi, or as a gift to anyone who uses yoga mats in the gym. It is well worth it!
