Beauty By Shea is a company that directly imports 100% organic, raw, and unrefined Shea Butter from Ghana. This Shea butter is carefully manufactured using a double-filtration system: it is filtered first in Africa and then again in the United States. Once it has gone through its second filtration, the Shea butter is packed into one pound-sized bricks, and packaged and heat sealed into the simple bag you see pictured above. Beauty by Shea has a love for organic products with natural healing abilities. They take pride in their customer service and their high-quality Shea butter.
Beauty by Shea cares about how their Shea butter is sourced. They participate in free trade, by working with an importer who directly interacts and does business with tribal women in Ghana. You can rest assured knowing that Beauty by Shea helps to support the local economy and better these women's lives.
Shea butter is derived from the seed of the African Karite tree, and can be both yellow or ivory in color. Shea butter is a natural moisturizer that is loaded with essential minerals and vitamins. In Beauty by Shea's 100% Organic, Raw Shea Butter, you will find Vitamins A, E, F, and K. Vitamin A is responsible for the majority of the moisturizing qualities of Shea butter; it is wonderful for treating a variety of skin conditions and even for wound healing. Vitamin A helps with the renewal of skin-cells and is a potent antioxidant. Vitamin E is also an antioxidant that can help balance the oils in your body and be preventative against sun damage. Vitamin F is full of essential fatty acids which are very moisturizing to dry/damaged hair and skin. Some of the conditions that Beauty by Shea's 100% Organic, Raw Shea Butter can help with include: insect bites, sunburn relief, dry/damaged hair, stretch marks, eczema, acne, cracked or torn skin, frostbite, rashes, soothing calluses, evening out skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles, sun spots, muscle fatigue, psoriasis, and more.
Since Beauty by Shea's 100% Organic Raw Shea Butter contains no chemicals, fillers, or artificial ingredients, it retains all its natural healing properties. Once Shea butter has been overly processed or has been aged too long, it starts to be deprived of many of its wonderful properties. This Shea butter is made for topical use only, on any area of your skin and even your hair. It is great to use as an ingredient when making your own soap, lotion, or shampoo/conditioner.
When you first receive Shea butter, it may have softened and melted somewhat in the heat. To fix this (and to get a more solid brick), all you have to do is put it into the fridge for approximately 30-60 minutes. Beauty by Shea's 100% Organic Raw Shea Butter is very easy to use. All you need is to scrap off a dime or nickel-sized portion of Shea butter, and then rub your palms or fingers together to help heat it up and soften it. Once it has a smooth, creamy texture it is ready to apply! You should always soften it before application, so that you know how much you will have, and you don't over-apply.
Right now, you can purchase Beauty by Shea's 100% Organic Raw Shea Butter on Amazon, here, for the sale price of ten dollars; if you have an Amazon Prime account, shipping is free! I really think this is a steal, because many companies that sell Shea butter products with chemicals make a fortune off of it, and for no reason!
Beauty by Shea was generous enough to send me a one-pound package of their Ivory, 100% Organic, Raw, and Unrefined Shea Butter in exchange for my honest opinions. I have never actually used raw Shea butter before...only that which has been a minor ingredient in lotions and other beauty products. I didn't realize before receiving this product what a difference having the RAW Shea butter really makes. I didn't know that once you add too many things to Shea butter, it loses many of its most important properties. I have only used raw Cocoa butter and Coconut Oil in the past, both of which I have found to be useful for both skin and hair.
This Shea butter may be my new favorite beauty product! Beauty by Shea delivered it very quickly, in a simple, yet eloquent package. When I received my Shea butter, it wasn't rock solid, but it was a nice, creamy texture, so I did not put mine into the fridge. Shea butter has a very distinct, nutty scent, that is not over-powering nor unpleasant. To me, it smells very earthy and fresh. I have found that it is very easy to apply, but does not absorb as quickly as any skin oils or serums. My advice is that if you are going to use it over your entire body (it feels like a spa treatment..you come out feeling entirely soft from top to bottom), do so after your shower, and only put on a light-weight robe so that it has time to become absorbed. I have used the Shea butter not only just for its moisturizing qualities, but also for its role in the removal of stretch marks and skin conditions. I am prone to getting stretch marks on the insides of my legs and on my sides, and I always love having a new product to try on the purpley stretch marks that haven't yet faded. This feels like it could really work. It hasn't cured my acne, but my face feels incredibly soft. I also put the Shea butter on my feet, where I was starting to get some rough skin just from walking around barefoot. I think I love the Shea butter the most on my hair! It really makes my hair feel silky and smooth, like velvet. I have very thick, unruly hair, so for me, the Shea butter was not in the least bit greasy. For people with thinner hair, I'm not how it would work, but I would just suggest applying less. I couldn't find one negative thing about this product! I am so glad that I have it, and I will be sharing it with my friends and family.
